Break these commandments and thou wilt suffer great tribulation from thy parents and music teacher.

Thou shalt not close thy instrument case without latching it.

Thou shalt not twirl, toss, throw or otherwise allow thy instrument to leave thy hands except to put it in it's case.

Thou shalt not put thy instrument down upon a couch, a chair, or thy bed for to do so may result in someone sitting upon thy instrument and putting butt prints thereon.

Thou shalt not put thy instrument down in a parking lot or driveway for if doing so, tire prints may come upon thy instrument and sore will be the damage thereof.

Thou shalt treat the school-owned instrument that thou playeth with love and devotion for thou hast not nor thy parents hast not had to purchase it for thy use.  It is but the least that thou shouldst do.

Thou shalt not use another's instrument, nor their mouthpiece, nor any part or accessory without their permission.

Thou shalt care for thy instrument according to the wisdom that thou wilt find herein so that thy days may be spent in rehearsal and not wasted with no instrument upon which to play because of thy neglect and slovenness.

Thou shalt contribute to the ensemble by practicing thy part until perfection and urging thy fellow musicians to obtain like perfection.

Thou shalt assume total responsibility for thy instrument and shall not falsely blame thy younger brother or sister, neither the unknown demon who wreaks havoc upon thy instrument while it is in it's case, for damage that comes upon it at thy hands.

Thou shalt hold thy band, choral or orchestra teacher up as a light unto the world and regard them as perfect and without spot or blemish and this is the greatest commandment of them all.
