Your instruments are the least complex of all. They
shouldn't need much repair and they won't, if you listen to the warnings.

Tighten
things just enough to get the job done. If it won't do the job it is
designed to do, then something is wrong.
Just because it has threads doesn't
mean it has to be tightened! Some threaded things are
ADJUSTMENTS, NOT FASTENERS.
Don't just screw things down until they won't turn anymore!
One of the big problems is people
turning in the T-handle that holds the upper tube in place in the tripod
assembly without the upper tube in place. This distorts the clamp and
makes the upper tube hard to get in.
The stands are designed to hold the
instrument in playing position. They will fall over if you bump them.
A fall from playing position WILL damage the instrument. Be careful
around all musical instruments unless you are playing anvil...and then there
are some of you who can tear that up! :)
Don't pick up your mallet instrument by
the bars. Those little rubber thingies can't handle the stress. Be
nice!
Be sure to keep your drum separated from the stand and other
stuff in your case. That prevents your snares getting messed up and
holes in your head.
Please, do not use super glue on your instrument in any way, shape, form, or
fashion. To do so will cause extra time and expense with repairs and
will not be corrected under our maintenance agreement.
IF IN DOUBT, DON'T!!
